Company description:: FREDONIA, KS – The “standard” checkbook we all know has a common, irritating, problem. This problem is confronted every time we tear a check out of the checkbook, and worsens the farther down you go in the book. “Tear” is the operative word. The paper perforations simply fail to live up to their job as the checks become more and more ragged, until finally you start “tearing” the check in shreds, frequently losing the check number in the process.
This problem was brought home to me when my husband returned from an errand to the local hardware store. He told me about a man in front of him in the check-out line muttering curses as he was trying (with some difficulty!) to pay for his purchases. The verbal outburst was caused simply because a stubborn check failed to come out of the book cleanly, requiring the man to start all over again. Like everyone else, we too, had torn our checks simply by trying to remove them. My husband and I looked at each other, the same thought dawning in both our minds. This sparked an idea.
We found it amazing that with all the technology and changes we had seen in our lifetime, this one thing had remained basically the same since the earliest checkbooks. We decided right then that we were going to change this, and created a checkbook that would allow checks to be removed quickly and cleanly. Starting with simple pen and paper sketches, we developed prototypes in our own home, and once we were satisfied, ran off some samples and began the testing. Which means we used our new checks the same way we used the old style checks. It was clear after only a few weeks of putting them through their paces (the hip pocket, purse, floor of the car test program), they passed with flying colors.
Now, to take the next step! After much research, testing, and a visit to the U.S. Patents Office, we are bringing to market our patent pending checkbook product, one with the smoothest release ever invented. Just peel it off! No tears, no rips, no starting over. This new product benefits all checkbook users, and should be especially appealing to anyone with wrist or hand problems.
On this one idea, brought to life, we formed our new company: Plain Checks Plus™ , based right here in Fredonia, Kansas. For more information on our new product, and to view examples of this new innovation, “Perf-Free” personal checks, please visit our web site at http://www.plainchecksplus.com.
